Attractions & Activities of Kangaroo Valley
The Beautiful Valley Behind the Coastal Escarpment
Kangaroo Valley is a picturesque scenic area centred around a small historic village, 160 km south of Sydney via the Princes Highway. A diverse mix of lush farmland, rain forest clinging tenaciously to the valley's steep slopes, streams criss-crossing the valley and ample facilities for visitors make Kangaroo Valley one of those 'must-see' destinations. Rich in history, these qualities contributed to a National Trust classification being awarded to the town in 1977.
During your visit to Kangaroo Valley you can enjoy a picnic beside the Kangaroo River, exploring the numerous walking tracks, go for a paddle on the Kangaroo River in a hire canoe, visit the many craft shops, restaurants and tea rooms in the village, or
just simply relax. For the more adventurous, the spectacular sandstone cliffs surrounding the valley offer some high quality rock climbing and abseiling. You will find information on some of Kangaroo Valley's tourist attractions and activities below.
